Immoral Lesbian

Cara talked to her sister Krista the other day on the phone.  Krista wants us to join the family for the fourth of July week-end.  I hear Cara joking with her sister about how we might drown one another if we were in too close proximity.  That assessment is very accurate.

I can not stand Krista.  She blames Cara’s mom for Cara being gay.  Telling her mom that she wasn’t around enough, didn’t show Cara enough attention etc…thus their mom ends up in tears.

Krista and her husband Barry are mondo Christians.  They have five kids, shooting for six.  Krista home schools, and won’t let the kids watch Finding Nemo, because Ellen is gay. The Veggie-tales weren’t Christian enough so the kids could no longer watch that.

In the mix of kids there are four girls and one boy.  For some reason Krista and Barry insist on letting Bradford know that he is a boy.  To the extent that they call him “The Boy.”  He can only play with trains, trucks, and things deemed boy worthy.

Hearing these horror stories about Krista, I wasn’t looking forward to meeting her. The first meeting was courteous. Her kids didn’t talk to me…I was Cara’s friend etc.

The second time was Christmas over a year ago.  That’s when the chit hit the bible fan.

Krista kept asking me why my parents adopted me. I knew from all my conversations with Cara that she was trying to find the reason I was a lesbian. When Krista first found out that Cara and I were dating she asked Cara if I had been sexually abused.  Because you know, all women who are lesbians were sexually abused.

Anyway, I wouldn’t answer her question. Krista doesn’t want to know why my parents adopted me, she wants to know why I’m a lesbo.  So the conversation turns to her home schooling. Krista gets upset because she doesn’t want the government checking up on her seeing if she is home schooling her children right.

Cara says it isn’t checking up on you, it’s to see if the others who are homes schooling are really doing it. You know not letting the kids grow up feral or something.

Krista then says, “The government has no right to be involved in my life.”

I reply, the government has no right to be involved in my life.  But it does involve its self. The government tries to dictate who I can love and marry.

The reply from Krista is this:  “Your life is immoral.”

I about lost it. “Immoral? It’s immoral for me to want to love someone and spend the rest of my life with them?  It’s immoral for me to want my S.S. benefits to go to my partner when I die?”

Cara can tell I’m about to lose it and says “Stop it, stop it.”

I get up and leave the room, I’m seething.  Needless to say Krista tried to ask me again why I was adopted.  I told her the only reason you want to know is so you can use it against me and my family to figure out a reason why I’m lesbian.

We haven’t spoken sense.  I won’t go to family functions if Krista is there. I’ll join up with Cara’s brother, mom and dad if Krista isn’t in the scene.  On the Fourth of July, fire works provided by lesbian and Christian.

Cara and I want Krista to keep popping out the kids.  That way the chances of one being gay increase.  Krista will have to eat her words.

  1. Wow… Veggie Tales aren’t Christian enough? That’s a frightening thought.

It’s hard for me to stomach Christians who are so confrontational about their beliefs. How exactly does Krista think she is demonstrating Christ’s love for you by being belligerent., rude, and condemnatory? Sheesh.

  2. If I’ve learned anything in my nearly fifty years on this planet, some people you just need to give up on. Krista sounds like one of those people.
