I was killing time today. Wanted to choke the crap outta time it was crawling bye. I decided that we as the gay folk of America have unfathomable power.
I started to make a mental list: We can destroy marriage, families, religion, and the military, that’s power. And it is all ours given to us by the fear of others. Can you imagine what we united could do with that kind of power…why we could take over America, heck why think small the whole world. BWAAHHHHHH!!
But that isn’t want we want. We want to be able to marry the person we love, because we love them and want to spend the rest of our lives with that person. We want the freedom from shame because of the gender of that person, and fear. To be able to hold hands and walk on the beach, and kiss one another good bye in the parking lot with out seeing if the neighbors are looking.
We want to be able to raise a family and love children and hear ourselves be called mom, or dad. Go to soccer games, spelling bees, kiss skinned up knees, and cling to our partner as puberty hits. Watch our children get married to whom ever they love…and be grand parents.
We want to be able to worship God in a church with out condemnation from those we worship with. To raise our hands in praise with other Christians no matter their sexual preference.
To defend our country. To wear the uniform of a nation of freedoms with out concealing a secret that would shame the very colors we want to fight for. We want to lay claim to freedoms we defend but cannot share. Pride in being an American, pride in liberty, pride in being free.
We queers, dikes, gays, homosexuals, transgendered, and bi-sexuals have been given total power to destroy. All we want is to belong, to build on the great things that should be ours because we are American, and human

I would liketo add another label to your last paragraph… I would like to add polyamory as well, if you don’t mind…
I am legally married to a man (17 years), and I love him, andwe also have a female partner (4 years); if people find it strange seeing two people walk through the mall with the same sex holding hands, the looks get more interesting when we all walk somewhere together all three holding hands…
We all want to be human, we all want to be accepted, we all want to call our families and say hey mom guess what my kid did today, or hey, i’m pregnant, was your pregnancy like this, etc… The sad part for us is that our parents can’t accept it, but our grandparents can (maybe they have loved and lost enough in their life that they can love us no matter who we are)…
Anyway, I found you via a tag, and if you wish you can find me/us at http://www.theybelongtous.wordpress.com
Always,
Jen
Jen,
Add away. I will admit I don’t know much about polyamory. I will educate myself on it.
You are accepted here, as well as your husband and partner.

Thank you. Happy to be accepted
” We want to be able to worship God in a church with out condemnation from those we worship with. To raise our hands in praise with other Christians no matter their sexual preference. ”
Amen… if we as Christians can’t love and accept one another, we aren’t mirroring CHRIST very well, are we?
Jen -
Nice to meet you. I look forward to reading your blog.

I think a lot of people confuse Christianity. God is love.
If you love honestly and sincerly then God respects that and understands that.
